The Bittersweet
Oh how you dare and dance in shades of crimson and magenta,
A balanced symphony of light and dark.
You’re my poison, my muse, my worst and best time,
sweet yet bitter to the bark.
Your undertones are slate and sable,
but on the surface you’re agile and poetic.
For you bring such joy summoned by melancholy,
A warm descent, surrendered in regret.
A passionate fuze of love and hate,
with a hum I fear you’re too consuming.
A sip of your soul, weaves me closer to myself,
whilst further away from the knowing.
