19 Creative Christmas tree ideas for a magical holiday

We have finally arrived at the ‘most wonderful time of year’. Christmas. The festive season is truly upon us with mulled wine dancing around our noses and the nipping silver air. There is nothing quite like the feeling of Christmas and it all begins with putting up all the decorations and of the course the tree!

There are so many ways a tree can be done and in recent years we’ve all been getting a lot more creative with ideas and colour schemes.

Here are some beautiful ideas for how you could do your Christmas tree this year.

  1. In the Forest

A natural Look always brings a classic elegance to a Christmas tree. With the use of forest findings such as pinecones and wooden decorations this type of Christmas tree is a classic look that never fails.

2. Dried Flowers

Adding dried flowers and Fruit such as Oranges gives a beautiful autumnal and sophisticated look to the Christmas Tree. I love the addition of magenta dried roses but you could find flowers and fruits that work for the colour scheme you want.

3. Navy and Brown

Navy and Brown is a very understand combination. A look that isn’t seen often but it elegant and Classy. Having a Navy Christmas tree Skirt could also be a lovely addition to this look. This is a colour combination that is cozy whilst giving an effortless modernity.

4. Red Bows

In recent years I have seen an increases in the ‘all red bows’ Christmas tree. A look I personally love and a look that gives a little twist on the classic Christmas tree, making a more modern version that is beautiful yet fun at the same time.

5. Dark Feminine

The season of the witch doesn’t stop with Halloween. Bringing a dark feminine energy to Christmas is always a great ideas with crimson and mahogany shades. This is a great way to incorporate a style you may already have in your home.

6. Sage Green

Sage green is stunning colour the gives a light and bright feel to a dark Christmas tree. A colour that has been popular in recent years and the perfect colour for a tasteful yet simple Christmas tree.

7. Classic White

A classic white tree can really do a lot to your living room this Christmas. White decorations with pops of green coming through from the Christmas tree always looks stunning. It’s a classic for a reason.

8. Brown & Gold

Brown and gold is a simple look that is similar to the classic forest Christmas tree but with touches of gold. This look incorporates the definitive gold of Christmas with muted brown tones, a look that is perfect next to a warm fireplace this winter.

9. The Nightmare before Christmas

If you’re into a gothic look or just love the colour black then this Christmas tree may just be the one of you. A look that could work well with a frosted white tree or with a a real ‘blue spruce’ tree.

10. Ornaments of Orange

I love this idea for a tree. Tying in the stunning scent of Christmas with dried oranges and cinnamon sticks. This is also a great idea if you have children. Getting the kids involved in making these beautiful ornaments for the tree is a brilliant activity around the holiday season and a way to make a beautiful tree that is one personal as well as scent-imental.

11. Mini Trees

Mini trees are fun and rather adorable too. This is an idea for either your desk at work to get into the holiday spirt or this is a cute idea to have around the house or in the kids bedrooms. A fun way to decorate a tree a little differently compared to your large one. This tree can be whatever you want and is a great way whilst still at work to feel christmassy leading up to the big day.

12. To the Moon and Stars

This to me is a very sweet idea for a tree. This would look great with the navy colour previously mentioned but I also think this could be beautiful for a child’s room or a tree that is small and sweet. If you want decorations that are simple yet different this could be a tree to think about this year.

13. Winter Wonderland

This Christmas tree can go a few different ways depending on your style and also the look you’re trying to express. The snowflakes upon your tree can come in and be done in a variety of styles whether you make paper snowflakes yourself with the kids, crochet, wooden or buy stunning crafted glass snowflakes, this look is perfect to feel like you have a winter wonderland inside your living room.

14. The Simple yet Classic

Sometimes simple is best. There is nothing wrong with having a tree that simple just has lights. A look that is understated and quite frankly never done. This can look beautiful if you want an elegant tree that is pretty and also cost effective.

15. Pretty in Pink

I understand, not a lot of people would think about the colour pink for Christmas, but if you’re a pink lover then why not run with it and make everything pink this Christmas. Baby pink can be done extremely well incorporating white and silver colours.

16. Partying in Purple

Similar to pink not a lot of people think about the colour purple when it comes to Christmas. I think this is because these colours clash a lot with red and fall between the cracks. If done right purple can look exquisite at Christmas. As seen above there are ways to tie in purple beautifully to give a warm but also stylish Christmas look.

17. Sparkling Glass

A glass ornament tree is guaranteed to shatter guest hearts this Christmas, wishing they had done the same. A tree that gives opulance and a refined taste.

18. A Wish Tree

Whether this is an idea to incorporate within your tree or whether this is done on a smaller tree that you have just for wishes, this is a beautiful idea for Christmas wishes this winter. A great idea for kids to know what’s on their Christmas lists or just beautiful messages for loved ones that may or may not be with us this year. An idea that could be great if you love affirmations or a special tradition to be made.

19. Tartan

This at first may seem like a silly idea for a tree but in actual fact tartan is very common within Christmas. Whether we see it within the form of pyjamas, stockings or even printed on wrapping paper we naturally see a lot of tartan and plaid with Christmas. This could be a great concept for a tree and a great way to tie your tree into its surroundings this holiday.

I hope these trees have one given you a little bit of inspiration and some guidance to what tree you may like to do this year but I also hope this got you excited for Christmas and a little bit more in the holiday spirit.
